Bushhouse is a small ecolodge located in the east coast Toamasina region of Madagascar, within the Canal des Pangalanes lake district, where fresh water lakes merge with the Indian Ocean. A unique blend of nature offers both marine worlds within walking distance. Inland, there is a beautiful and quite sweet water lake with a sand beach; while within five kilometres behind a narrow stretch of land separating the lake and the Indian Ocean, you can hear the low roar of the waves. Both spectacles are within view of your bungalow. As the name implies, "Bushhouse" may be a bit difficult to find, as it can only be reached by boat, helicopter or 4x4 wheel drive. Once you get there, however, it will be a rewarding experience and worth the effort. You can watch the lemurs, discover the natural botanical gardens, take a low-impact hike tour, or just enjoy the peace and quite away from the mainstream tourist industry. We hope to have the opportunity having you stay with us during your next visit to Madagascar.
