Palmarium
Starting from the Bushhouse, it is an easy 30 minutes walk along the beach to reach the Palmarium - a private natural reserve on an peninsula. A local expert will take you through the forest and guide you to the lemurs. These friendly forest dwellers are free-ranging and tame. This makes photographing these normally rare species easy and rewarding. At the entrance of the reserve there is a well maintained garden of endemic palms, orchids and exotic plants. Exhibition terrariums show different endemic reptiles and frogs.Entrance and guide fees are paid at the reserve and cost 40000 FMG per person.
