We recommend boat transfers to and from Bushhouse. The cruise on the calm water of the Pangalanes is a scenic voyage along big lakes and beautiful green landscape, and all the secular life of the Betsimisaraka before your eyes. Definitely one of the highlights of a stay in Madagascar.
You can take the boat either from Tamatave (2h30 hour cruise to Bushhouse) or Manambato, on Rasoabe Lake (1h).
Travelling from Antananarivo to Manambato by car or minibus takes approximately 5 hours (260km) along a tarred curvy road through the rice terraced highlands. From Andasibe Natural Park it is a 3 hour drive (133km). You leave the National Road N°2 11km after Brickaville to join the Rasoabe Lake on a good secondary road (6km). Our boat will collect you there!
